This luxury London hotel has one of the deepest basements in the world, but it will cost you £500
The Londoner is coined as a "super boutique luxury hotel," which sounds about as good as it gets. Soon to be opened, this 16-floor hotel, has got lots going for it — so to learn about why this could be the new place to experience in London, keep on scrolling.
The Londoner will have six of its 16 storeys below ground, making its basement one of the deepest in the world. Coined as London's first "iceberg hotel," meaning a hotel that extends deep below the ground, like an iceberg below the water. Moreover, the group behind this, Edwardian Hotels London, was able to figure out a way to do all of this in an environmentally friendly manner. The UK BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) has given the hotel a rating of "Excellent" for its environmental sustainability.
Though the foodie scene found around the Londoner's ideal Leicester Square location is bumping, this is one hotel where you'll actually want to wine and dine. Outfitted with a rooftop bar, a gastro tavern, and a signature restaurant, you're likely to find your gastronomy scene is available within the hotel walls.
The hotel was set to open summer 2021, but due to local COVID restrictions, the opening date has been pushed back to September.
