Looks like Thailand... but it's in France 😮?

Pirates, Verdon Gorge in Provence, France looks like it could be in Thailand or the Philippines. A 25km-long limestone river canyon with sparkling turquoise waters.

The best time to visit is during summer when boat rentals will be open. We've done some research, and many people choose to stay in Cotignac, about 30 minutes from the entrance where you can rent a boat (Base de l'Etoile is one of them).

We've spotted a 4⭐️ Mercure Spa hotel just outside of Cotignac, so a bit further to drive to Verdon Gorge, but the hotel looks stunning and would be a great base. Rates from £93 per night in late June.
