It's actually one of the best-preserved medieval towns in all of Europe ❤️💡
From £26 per night
Pirates, forget the tourist traps. We think we have found the ultimate fairytale town, and it is practically unheard of in the UK!
Meet Quedlinburg. It is not just "pretty", it is a full-blown medieval masterpiece. We are talking about a UNESCO World Heritage site with over 1,300 half-timbered houses (one of the biggest collections in Germany!) that have survived for six centuries.
Picture this: A dramatic castle on a sandstone cliff, a maze of cobblestone streets, and a sea of red-tiled roofs. It is the authentic German aesthetic. 🏰🏡
💎 The Hidden Gem Factor
Why have you not heard of it? Honest talk: it takes a bit of effort to get there. There are no direct flights to the town square, so you will need a flight to Berlin or Hannover plus a train or bus ride to seal the deal.
💰 The Payoff
Because it is a little harder to reach, the crowds are smaller, and the prices are unreal. We have spotted super-central hotels for under £30 per night. 🤯 That is cheaper than a Travelodge in Luton, and we promise the views are slightly better. Well worth the extra leg of travel!
📍Hotel Garni zum Goldenen Ring, Quedlinburg
Similar prices can be found for mid-week dates in February and March. From April onwards, we're talking £80+ per night.
Hotel booking via Trivago, which will always show you the cheapest rates at the time
Make sure you log into/create accounts with the hotel provider to get the best rates
You could fly to Berlin and then catch a bus from ZOB (Central Bus Station), or catch the Harz-Berlin-Express -- train that gets you there.
We might be pirates, but we’re an honest bunch. We check all our deals when we review them to make sure everything is available. However, with deals this hot, things change quickly—flight prices fluctuate, hotel rooms sell out, currencies yo-yo. And just so you know, local taxes might still apply – even treasure has its fine print. But mainly, demand for the best deals means the lowest prices don’t last long. If you’ve missed out this time, don’t worry, we’re working on more great offers.
