We were shocked to find this out too but seriously, there are so many parts of the amazing country to visit including Lough Derg where you can stay in this gorgeous converted boathouse that sits right on the water.

Stay overnight from £147* per night and that's for two guests sharing and no matter what time of the year you go, it's the same price. Although you do need to book for two nights if booking over a weekend.

It's about a 2.5-hour drive from Dublin and give or take an hour from Limerick so perfect if you fancy something a little different and away from the cities.
