Mateys, Hallowe'en is here and we know many of you love to be scared, but would you dare stay in a haunted hotel and even go ghost hunting, yikes!

There are many hotels that are said to be haunted in the UK, with Chillingham Castle in Northumberland at the top of the list. You can book a stay there or just visit between May and October and also see the gardens, lakes and parklands, castle state rooms, dungeon and the torture chamber - shudders!

You can also book many haunted hotel stays with ghost hunting included if you are brave enough, there are options in Chester, Liverpool, and Wales too.

There is no wonder the Mermaid Inn in Rye is said to be haunted, it is 600 years old and looks the part. You can also book a ghostly guided walk and discover discover murders, witches, ghosts and medieval torture.

Tulloch Castle which is a 12th-century castle with over 20 bedrooms, a bar and restaurant and possibly a few ghosts roaming the halls.

York is well known for being a haunted city, the Black Swan in York is said to have a few ghosts including a workman in a bowler hat who fidgets and tuts, a young woman in a long white dress, and a pair of man’s legs which are seen wandering round. Why not book a walking ghost tour during your stay in York too.

The female ghost in Ruthin Castle in Wales is said to have discovered her husband was having an affair and then killed the woman with an axe - crikey! She has even been known to photobomb guests pictures.
