Pirates, we've just found the dreamiest road trip between five fairytale villages that you need to add to your bucket list.

In the Alsace region of France, you'll find these villages that are said to be the inspiration for Beauty and the Beast. There are five in particular that we love, and driving between all of them only takes 1 hour, or there are decent train options available.

Start in Eguisheim and head north to Colmar then Kaysersberg-Vignoble, on to Riquewihr and finish in Ribeauvillé.

ℹ️ The nearest Airport is EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg and you can take a 40-minute train or drive to your first stop in Eguisheim. Then either make your way back, or keep heading north after Ribeauvillé and head to Strasbourg (also beautiful) to fly back from there.
