Pirates, this may well be the most secluded and exclusive hotel in the Mediterranean. Cap Rocat, a is a 19th-Century fortified citadel-turned fancy as heck 5-star hotel.

With a privileged location in the bay of Palma on the edge of a nature reserve, rooms are located all around the fortress’ exterior walls, in former military quarters. This hotel is movie set vibes, perfect sea views, suites carved out of the rock face and a spa so beautiful you'd sell your soul for a longer dip.

The fortress - classified as a Property of Cultural Interest and National Monument - was never built as such, and 10 years ago it was restored respecting the original elements to create an absolutely unique accommodation, and belongs to the prestigious chain Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

Details

Let's start with a little rest: the hotel has different rooms and suites. All the suites have a terrace, and some of them even have a private pool.

In terms of gastronomy, it offers two restaurants: La Fortaleza - run by chef Víctor García and specialising in Mallorcan cuisine with an avant-garde touch - and the Sea Club which, as per its name, has sea views.

Finally, another essential service: the hotel spa, and this one is a beauty.

It's located in the most hidden part of the fortress and has, among other things, a salt water pool covered by a glass roof that floods it with light during the day. It also offers beauty treatments and natural cosmetics.

The hotel also deserves special mention for its location in the bay of Palma, near Cala Blava. It is a quiet area, far from the hustle and bustle of the island, and classified as a Natural Area of Special Interest.

It is also for this reason that Cap Rocat is particularly committed to respecting the environment and defending sustainable tourism.

Additional Information

As you can imagine, the price of a night in this luxury hotel is not exactly cheap. Sleeping in a national monument located in one of the most remote areas of the island, with all the features of a 5* hotel, comes at a cost.

It must be said that in addition to comfort and privacy, it offers an exclusivity that is highly appreciated by many travellers. See for yourself the pictures below!
