Breaking News: The Travel Red List is scrapped

All countries to be removed from Red List & no hotel quarantine required

The transport secretary, Grant Shapps, has confirmed that the last remaining 11 countries on England's travel Red List will be removed at 04:00am TOMORROW (Wednesday 15th December).

The 11 countries currently on the red list are: Angola, Botswana, Eswatini, Lesotho, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Travellers returning from these countries will no longer have to quarantine in a hotel.

Grant Shapps tweeted "From 4am on Weds 15 Dec, ALL 11 countries will be removed from England's travel red list."

"All current TESTING measures remain in place & will be reviewed in the first week of January."
