This could save families a lot of money
In good news for holidaymakers, tour operator TUI has launched Covid test packages starting from £20 for Brits returning from green list countries this summer.
With some PCR Covid tests costing up to £120 per person, this could mean big savings for travellers.
The Green List of countries -- destinations that Brits can go to without quarantining on return -- is expected to be released tomorrow (7 May).
Green List countries will face the lightest restrictions: travellers must present a negative test before departure to the UK (rapid antigen or lateral flow), as well as a negative PCR test within two days of arrival. If both are negative, travellers won't have to quarantine.
TUI will be offering both a pre-departure lateral flow test and a PCR test for £20 for their customers (available one hour after booking a holiday).
TUI has also launched an amber test package (for those returning from an Amber List country), costing £50, which includes a lateral flow test and two PCR tests which have to be taken on day two and day eight when back in the UK.
With this news, it's likely that other operators and testing companies will follow suit making holidays a lot cheaper.
