Pirates, how about a night in an entire hotel made of salt? This experience is possible in Uyuni, Bolivia, a region famous for the Salar de Uyuni salt flat.

Read on to learn more about the world's first salt hotel!

Details

Welcome to the top-rated Hotel Palacio de Sal (Rated 4.5/5 on Tripadvisor and Best of the Best in 2022 Travellers' Choice Awards).

This hotel, which translated means The Salt Palace, is entirely made of salt bricks and houses phenomenal views of the salt flats. Guests rave about fantastic views, service, and hotel amenities.

Besides amazing views, the hotel has the best access to the Salt Flats as they are just a short walk away. The hotel even has bikes that you can hire, if you want to explore the area even more.

Guests have gushed over the sunrises and sunsets that can be seen from the hotel. Imagine a romantic holiday with some wine and a nice sunset from your hotel room.

The domed ceilings above the beds are entirely made out of salt bricks, a unique feature to the hotel. Some guests have reviewed on Tripadvisor that not all rooms have windows, so we suggest booking a suite from just £30* more per night to ensure you have the best views. We definitely think the upgrade is worth it.

The hotel features an on-site spa that offers massages, body treatments, and facials at an extra cost. However, there is also an indoor pool and sauna open to guests free of charge.

On-site, you'll also have a bar and restaurant, which offers a regional menu with a wide variety of salty dishes (of course).

Guests are also offered a complimentary airport shuttle service throughout their stay, as well as a breakfast buffet each morning.

We've found nightly rates from £106 a night with free breakfast for a last-minute getaway—a great deal considering nightly rates are usually £170+.
