Mateys, the whispers were true, the government have confirmed that fully-vaccinated Brits WILL be allowed to travel to countries on the amber list WITHOUT having to quarantine on their return.

Details

At the minute if you return from a country on the amber list you will have to quarantine at home for up to 10 days, or use the test-to-release system to leave the house from day 5.

It was announced that UK residents who are fully vaccinated will not have to isolate when travelling back from amber list countries, however there is no date currently set for when that will be.

The Transport Secretary Tweeted: "Thanks to our successful vaccination programme, our intention is that later in the summer UK residents who are fully vaccinated will not have to isolate when travelling from amber list countries."

The new rule will see travellers with 2 jabs able to head off on holiday to a huge amount of destinations, however, you will still need to do the Covid tests as you do when visiting and returning from a green list country.

At the minute, travellers leaving the UK are allowed to use the NHS app to prove their vaccine status and cut quarantine in some countries.
