Sample itinerary from Bunk Campers - Wild Atlantic Way 7 Day Driving Route

Day 1: Pick up camper in Dublin and travel to Connemara

Pick up your camper from Bunk Campers Dublin depot, just minutes from the airport, and head west to Connemara National Park. Or, travel from London if you decided to pick up your camper from there. Spend an adventurous day surrounded by mountains, lakes, grasslands, bogs and unique wildlife. The park offers activities to suit all visitors, ranging from hiking through Diamond Hill to riding a native Connemara pony.

Day 2: Galway

Point your camper south towards Galway and discover Ireland’s authenticity. Taste a Guinness in one of its local pubs while listening to live Irish folk music. A delight to the senses. After an amazing night out, come back to your campervan and let the fun continue: play games in your camper, cook up a midnight snack or watch a late night movie on board with a portable DVD player.

Day 3: Cliffs of Moher

At the Cliffs of Moher, park up your campervan and walk around the magnificent coastal path. Become a privileged witness to a breath-taking fight between the sea and the rocks. At night, cook on board your camper and dine with the roar of waves as background soundtrack. There’s nothing left to say.

Day 4: Clare and Limerick

Whilst in counties Clare and Limerick, explore some of Ireland’s traditional Irish villages: drive by Liscannor, Ennistymon or Adare, well-known for their thatched cottages. Enjoy fresh seafood, a pint with the locals and the warm Irish atmosphere.

Day 5: Dingle

Continuing south along the Wild Atlantic Way, reach the westernmost point of Europe along the Dingle Peninsula. With several caravan and campsites to leave your camper, this region is a paradise for hiking, cycling or fishing lovers. The whales and local dolphin, Fungie, will delight both children and adults.

Day 6: Ring of Kerry

The Ring of Kerry is one of the most scenic drives in the world. Trace this circuit anti-clockwise and discover castles, waterfalls, forts or fine beaches on your way. Don’t forget to drive up Geokaun Mountain, make a warm tea in your camper, wrap yourself in a blanket and break away from the world by gazing the magnificent views from one of the Ring of Kerry’s highest points.

Day 7: Cork and return to Dublin

Finally, on your way back to Bunk Campers’ Dublin’s depot, step back in time through Cork’s medieval castles. Headed by Blarney Castle (home of the famous “Stone of Eloquence”), other names such as Carrigadrohid, Mallow or Castlemartyr are also worth exploring.
