Spain to welcome Brits back with a digital vaccination certificate, says Spanish tourism minister
Spain has announced that they will begin welcoming back vaccinated British tourists to their beaches in June.
All vaccinated holidaymakers will be allowed to travel to Spain in June with a digital health pass, says Spanish tourism minister Fernando Valdes Verelst.
Spain hopes to include the UK under the EU's vaccine certificate plan, meaning you might not have to have the jab to travel to Spain. Under the vaccine certificate plan a negative test result or anyone who has recovered from the virus is also sufficient, according to the European Commission’s proposal.
Starting next month, Spain will launch a pilot programme using digital passes at 46 different airports around Spain in order to prepare for British tourists arriving in June.
At this time, both countries are working together towards a common travel goal. While the UK has been very tight-lipped about which countries will be on the green list, Spain's tourism minister is confident that Spain will be one of them.
