CONFIRMED: The Queen's giving us an extra holiday
We're getting an extra Bank Holiday & 4-day weekend thanks to the Queen's Platinum Jubilee!
Great news, Pirates -- in June, to celebrate the Queen being Queen for approximately 8 million years (70 years to be specific), we are getting a BONUS EXTRA FREE BANK HOLIDAY.
6th February 2022, marked 70 years of Queen Elizabeth II's reign although the powers that be have chosen June for the celebrations hoping for better weather. Fair play.
There will be four days of celebrations from 2-5 June with "spectacular" events planned across the UK according to Buckingham Palace and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport.
To create the four-day weekend in June 2022, the late May Spring Bank Holiday will be moved to Thursday 2 June and an additional Bank Holiday on Friday 3 June will be created.
