Therme Manchester will have 25 pools and 35 water slides
Pirates, if you fancy the feeling of a tropical holiday but don't want to fly anywhere, here's something those in Manchester can look forward to!
Therme Manchester is planned as a wellbeing complex with 25 swimming pools, 35 water slides, 30 saunas and steam rooms - all surrounded by palm trees and housed under glass domes. The £250-million project near the Trafford Centre has been confirmed to start construction this year. A second location has been announced in Glasgow.
The actual opening date is yet to be announced. You can keep up with their progress here, and, of course, we'll be watching out for any grand opening offers!

The aim of the project is to create a wellbeing bio-diverse garden in the shape of a rose 🌹, with petal-shaped terraces, pools and water features.
The planners are exploring the option of beehives on the roof, aiming to use the honey for spa treatments and in the restaurants. 🐝
Part of the plan is a family zone with waterslides, a wave pool, indoor and outdoor pools, steam rooms and relaxation areas. Activities will include water-based fitness classes, yoga, Pilates and other activities.
The Therme Group already has a wellness centre in Bucharest, Romania, but Manchester’s is set to be twice the size.
Saunas and steam rooms will be infused with different scents and materials.
