The wedding industry took a big hit during Covid-19, with couples across the world cancelling or postponing their big day until restrictions and the worst of the pandemic had passed.
One Italian region, Lazio, (which includes the capital of Rome) are trying to prevent further economic suffering in their region and bring the industry back to life by offering couples €2,000 to get married there.
The grant is open to locals and international couples alike, as long as you have the wedding between 1 January - 31 December 2022.
You can redeem the money on any expense like cake, your honeymoon, wedding attire or catering.
The only catch is that there is a finite amount of funding, €10 million, and once it's gone, it's gone - so you have to act quickly.
The great thing about the initiative is that not only do you get to have your wedding in one of the most beautiful countries on the planet, but you'll be getting €2,000 of the expenses covered AND you'll be supporting the local economy.
That's a win-win in our books!
