Pirates, we've heard back from you asking for more deals on train tickets. Here we go! Trainline has a sale on at the moment where you can save up to 33% on digital railcards.

All new railcards cost £30 for one year -- so with this sale you'll get £9.90 off. With your railcard, you'll then be able to save one third on your train ticket price. In some cases, it's worth buying the railcard just for one journey.

The sale is on until 28 February. Use the code 33YESPLEASE. There are 300,000 discounted railcards available with the code.

Details

Railcards - who are they for?

Trainline's railcards are a good option for regular train users, as they offer you a third off the price of tickets. They are also kept on an app - stopping you from worrying about losing a physical railcard.

Which options do you have?

There are seven types of UK Railcards available with Trainline:

  • Network Railcard

  • 16-17 Saver

  • 16-25 Railcard

  • 26-30 Railcard

  • Family & Friends Railcard

  • Two Together Railcard

  • Senior Railcard

When can you use a Railcard?

It depends on the type of Railcard you have. Generally, all Railcards can be used for discounted train fares during Off-Peak times, weekends, and public holidays. Some, like the age-related railcards, can be used during peak times with a minimum fare.

How does it work?

To use the discount code, you must have, or create a Trainline account.

Have your ID details ready (passport, drivers liscence, EEA National Identity card), as you'll need that to create the digital railcard.

There's an easy step-by-step guide on the Trainline website (scroll down) on how to create an account on your phone.

Example

Here's an example for how much you can save with just one journey. We've used a 16-25 railcard for the example. Saving: £36.75.
