We've found a bargain trip, using easyJet's new direct flights
From £235 pp
Think you know Iceland? Think again. The likelihood is that all the sights you saw were in the south of the island - the north remains relatively undiscovered.
The good news is that easyJet are launching the first direct route from the UK to Akureyri, the capital of northern Iceland - and those flights are currently super cheap.
So cheap that we found a 4-night trip on Lastminute.com for £235. For this price, you'll be staying at a modern and well-reviewed apartment in Akureyri. The deal is to travel in early January - the same package in February costs up to £115 more.
What can you see in northern Iceland? We recommend checking out the Hvítserkur sea stack, Aldeyjarfoss waterfall, Arctic Henge, Ásbyrgi Canyon and Goðafoss waterfall.
Travel from London on 9 January for the best price
Other departure airports, travel dates and durations are available but cost more
Checked luggage and transfers are not included
Based on two people sharing, ATOL protected and available on Lastminute.com
*We might be Pirates, but we’re an honest bunch. We check all our deals when we review them to make sure everything is available. Here’s the catch: with deals this hot, things change quickly: flight prices fluctuate, hotel rooms sell out, currencies yo-yo. Mainly, demand for the best deals means the lowest prices don’t last long. But, if you’ve missed out this time, don’t worry: we’re working on more great offers.
