Seville is glorious in the winter with mild weather & lots to do

Seville sits deep in the south of Spain, inland from the sea with a totally different feel to the package-holiday-friendly Costa del Sol on the coast.

In the depth of winter in the UK, enjoy mild days in Seville where you can still eat outside during January and enjoy a stroll across Plaza Virgen de los Reyes.

While some parts of southern Spain effectively close down in the winter, Seville comes alive with a burgeoning food scene, lots of museums and bars still open late into the night.

The most famous site -- the Alcázar palace -- can still be visited and is a reminder of Spain's Moorish past.
