ESTA reminder: US entry requires an approved ESTA (approx. $21), and Yosemite National Park charges a $35 vehicle entrance fee (valid for 7 consecutive days).
Getting there: SFO Airport Transfer & drive
Car hire is essential: Pick up a rental car directly from the SFO Car Rental Center (connected to all terminals via the free AirTrain). There is no public transit to Bass Lake.
The route: Head east on I-580 E, merge onto CA-99 S through the Central Valley, then take CA-41 N past Fresno and Oakhurst directly into Bass Lake.
Drive time: Approximately 200 miles (3.5 to 4 hours), depending on conditions.
Winter driving rules: Mountain storms can hit the Sierra foothills in January. California Highway Patrol frequently requires all vehicles entering mountain corridors (including Highway 41) to carry snow chains—reserve an AWD/4WD or pick up tyre chains en route, and check Caltrans road conditions before setting off. If your flight arrives late at night, stay near SFO for night one and tackle the mountain drive refreshed in daylight.
We might be pirates, but we’re an honest bunch. We check all our deals when we review them to make sure everything is available. However, with deals this hot, things change quickly — flight prices fluctuate, hotel rooms sell out, currencies yo-yo. And just so you know, local taxes might still apply – even treasure has its fine print. But mainly, demand for the best deals means the lowest prices don’t last long. If you’ve missed out this time, don’t worry, we’re working on more great offers.
