Tokyo isn't the cheapest place to visit. But if you're flexible with dates and don't mind indirect flights, you can get some decent prices.

We've found cheap flights in January and decided to make the most of them with a few package options from Kayak for every budget. Prices start from £600 and also include six nights of accommodation.

The catch? The flights are 1-stoppers with Air China. Maybe not your airline of choice (and probably not the most fancy), but the stopover is pretty short (max two-and-a-bit hours) and prices are great – you're paying £300-£400 less than the same trips with the cheapest direct option.

Pirate note: the outbound flight is overnight, so the trips are a total duration of seven nights, but only six in Tokyo.

Details

Option 1:
Stay in a hostel from £600
This price is for a solo traveller staying in a dorm room.

Option 2:
Don't want strangers in your room? Make it a budget hotel from £731
This price is per person, but based on two people sharing – so you'll need a mate.

Option 3:
The word 'budget' offends you? How about a 4-star hotel from £853
Yes, you've guessed it... per-person price, again. Mate needed, again.

Option 4:
Look at you, Mr Big Spender. Someone's done alright. 5-star hotel from £1183
Again, the price is per person. Just treat someone you love – we know you can afford it.

Additional Information

*We might be Pirates, but we’re an honest bunch. We check all our deals when we review them to make sure everything is available. Here’s the catch: with deals this hot, things change quickly: flight prices fluctuate, hotel rooms sell out, currencies yo-yo. Mainly, demand for the best deals means the lowest prices don’t last long. But, if you’ve missed out this time, don’t worry: we’re working on more great offers.
