HOLIDAYPIRATES TO MOVE ITS GLOBAL HEADQUARTERS TO A FLEXIBLE WEWORK OFFICE IN BERLIN

Thursday 26 August 2021

HolidayPirates, the leading online travel deals platform, has announced that in a bid to continue to embrace its remote-first working policy while encouraging a collaborative approach, the company will be moving to a hybrid ‘hub and spoke’ model that will see the HolidayPirates’ global headquarters move into a private, flexible workspace at WeWork Warschauer Platz, Berlin, from 1 September 2021.

HolidayPirates Group made its first steps to implement a remote-first working policy long before the pandemic began. Whilst the outbreak of COVID-19 has accelerated the process, the flexible approach and possibility of working remotely has always seemed the most appropriate solution for a digitally focused company operating across 10 international markets and employing talent from more than 40 different nations.

The move, which HolidayPirates Group has been championing for over a year, highlights the growing shift away from the traditional office-based model and will enable the company to continue to provide its employees with freedom to work remotely from any corner of the world, while offering flexible workspace to embrace collaboration and tackle the challenges of remote working.

In addition to securing headquarter space at WeWork Warschauer Platz, HolidayPirates’ employees have also been provided with WeWork All Access memberships, enabling them to work from over 700 WeWork locations across the world.  Through this “hub and spoke” model, employees can collaborate both at an official headquarters, as well as in WeWork spaces convenient to their location.

David Armstrong, CEO of HolidayPirates, comments: “We are delighted to be moving into an uber-modern office in Berlin which will allow every colleague a flexible working environment.

“Given the fact that we are a tech-forward travel company, it made sense that we had a remote-first policy throughout the pandemic, but as we slowly and cautiously move out of the grip of COVID-19, we want to provide all our colleagues access to collaborative spaces.

“Our HQ and ‘hub’ will be in Berlin, but all our colleagues scattered across the world will have access to meet, work and collaborate in great and central locations”.

Niki Kolev, Managing Director Northern and Central Europe, WeWork said: “We’re delighted to partner with HolidayPirates and welcome them to our diverse member community. As companies begin to embrace hybrid working and flexibility, the right workspace has never been so important. We are confident the HolidayPirates team will thrive in their new WeWork HQ – designed to foster collaboration, creativity and company culture – while also benefiting from our portfolio of inspiring workspaces across the globe through WeWork All Access.
