Where you'd be living

The Sardinian village of Ollolai is located in the central part of the island in easy reach of major destinations like Cagliari and stunning coastal villages. Ollolai is off the beaten path in the Lake District and is surrounded by mountains.

The village has just over 1,000 inhabitants, the majority of whom are indigenous to the island. Rich in culture, they share various traditions and host popular festivals. Ollolai is also part of the world's Blue Zone, meaning that those who live in this area are known for their longevity—a lifestyle supported by the delicious, unique food options that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.

Interestingly, the Sardinian village gained significant attention in 2015 when the first "one-euro house" project was introduced. A Dutch reality show, Het Italiaanse Dorp: Ollolai, consisting of 30 episodes set entirely in Ollolai, followed young couples as they moved to the village and adapted to its new, everyday way of life.

The Offer

The village has been actively fighting depopulation for nearly a decade now and has launched past one euro housing projects, as well as, the effort to bring digital nomads to Ollolai. Given the current political news in the US, the offer is currently targetting Americans, but is still open to us Brits, and they have encouraged anyone to apply.

The properties available to purchase are not yet live on the newly launched village website, however, soon prospective buyers will be able to take a look at the options online and get assistance on purchasing from experts in the region.
