Due to misbehaving tourists (standard), Bali have banned tourists from climbing all 22 of their mountains with immediate effect, this also applies to local tourists. You could actually be deported for doing so.

The mountains are seen as sacred places and tourists have been disrespecting them by behaving badly when climbing the mountains.

The ban includes the famous sunrise hike at Mount Batur, which will be a big hit for tourists being one of the top tours on Get Your Guide. Don't worry, there are still plenty of other activities to book in Bali.

What do you make of this new rule?

What other rules has Bali imposed?

Bali has also banned tourists from renting motorbikes.
