The European Commission has given the go-ahead for the merger, and it will help towards the EU’s plans to increase high-speed train travel as a more eco-friendly option instead of flying.
Thalys is a high-speed train operator that offers many routes in Europe, the merger of Eurostar and Thalys will give us much more choice when it comes to train journeys with some new destinations we couldn't reach by train before.
It is thought the Eurostar name will be kept, and the network will offer many routes, including London to Berlin.
