Summer in the city 😍 Hotels with rooftop pools no matter the budget
We know you love a city trip, pirates! We've been on the lookout for top locations to stay in Europe with a rooftop pool this summer.
Check out where to stay in📍Florence, Rome, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Stockholm and Lisbon. We've looked at options for every budget.
Not all of the rooftop pools we've found are heated, so make sure you'll check before you book, so you're not disappointed.
We were surprised to see summer rates for central Stockholm from under £90 per night, and summer availability at top-rated hostels from just £25 per night!

FLORENCE
Ahh, magnificent, pirates! The views, you'll get from 4-star Hotel Kraft's rooftop pool: priceless! Staying here comes with a price tag, though, as you're pretty central, the River Arno and Ponte Vecchio are nearby.
We've checked prime summer dates and you can stay here from £186 per night in July!
This hip hostel sits bang in the city centre! Uffizi Gallery and the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore are a short walk away. So, if you don't mind sharing a dorm, you'll get a top location AND a cool rooftop pool at an affordable price.
Late summer is proably the best value to stay here, get great rates and use the pool. It's £42 in a shared dorm or £132 per night for a room for 2 with private bathroom.
AMSTERDAM
The W Amsterdam hotel sits in a historic Telephone exchange, rrrrring! The 5-star hotel is chic and absolutely brilliant to stay in if money doesn't matter for your city trip!
You'll be a short walk from Dam Square, Anne Frank House and other sights. And the pool...well, just look at that picture!
The cheapest you can get in summer here is £383 per night.
Ok, ok -- it's not a pool, that's on the roof of trendy Volkshotel, but a hot tub with views and a sauna. Not bad, considering you can stay here from £79 (small room with shared bathroom a that price)!
The hotel is a short walk from a metro station and sights like the an Gogh Museum are easy to reach.
You can stay here in the summer months from £107 per night.
ROME
Could there be a rooftop in Rome with a less perfect view? The 4-star Mercure Roma Colosseo really sits in a prime position to explore this amazing city. Guests who have stayed there give it the thumbs up on Tripadvisor, too. AND, we've found summer rates to stay there from £186 per night.
A little less close to the main attractions is the 4-star H10 Roma Città, which sits in the Marconi district overlooking the River Tiber. It's a short walk to Trastevere station, the Pantheon is 4 miles away.
We've found rates to stay from £129 in prime summer! Bargain!
BARCELONA
The 3-star Yurbban Trafalgar Hotel has absolutely top reviews on Tripadvisor, it's centrally located with a metro station just around the corner AND most importanly, it's got the rooftop pool and the views, mateys!
You can stay here in summer from around £210 per night in the summer, which really isn't bad considering you'll get to splash on the roof!
You can stay for less than £50 at the Yeah Barcelona Hostel in the summmer months if you do don't mind sharing a dorm. Take a dip in the small rooftop pool or go sightseeing, La Sagrada Familia is a 10-minute walk from the hostel.
STOCKHOLM
The Winery Hotel is for wine lovers, for sure! A bit further outside of Stockholm you'll get beautiful lake views from the heated rooftop pool. The station and the airport aren't far, so it's easy to get around.
Stay here from £102 per night in June.
We love the look of the Downtown Camper by Scandic hotel, which sits a short walk from Stockholm Central Station ans is the perfect base to explore the city. We've spotted cheap rates this summer from £88 per night.
Not that you need to go in the summer, the rooftop pool is heated (although you have to pay a fee if you want to use the spa facilities).
LISBON
Music fans, here's your hit! The super central 4-star hotel HF Fénix Music is pirate tested and we just loved the theme throughout.
When you walk in there's a red carpet with flashing and clicking. You'll feel like you're papped. There are headphone stations around the lobby where you can tune into some new beats and there's a recording studio even!
But that's not all -- did you see the rooftop pool? You'll definitely have a cool time in Lisbon staying here!
We found summer rates from £127. You can stay here cheaper in winter, but the pool is not heated...could be a bit chilly.
The cheaper alternative is staying at Sunset Destination hostel Lisbon. It's a short walk from Lisbon Cathedral and the 11th-century Castelo de S. Jorge. Guests leave glowing reviews on Tripadvisor and from the rooftop pool you'll get brilliant river views!
Summer is getting booked up quickly here and you can only book 2-night stays (or longer). But if you're quick, you can get that at just £50 for both nights! 🔥
