New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has said that it is finally time to start a new chapter when it comes to the coronavirus pandemic. Virtually all restrictions are disappearing in New Zealand!
New Zealand has long had some of the strictest restrictions when it comes to COVID-19. However, the country is finally relaxing its restrictions and introducing rules similar to those in Europe.
The rules introduced on 13 September 2022 are as follows:
There is no longer a need to present a negative COVID-19 test result or to isolate yourself upon arrival in New Zealand
You will receive a free rapid antigen test (RAT) on arrival at the airport. The NZ government encourages you to test on arrival and on day 5 or 6 and to report your test result by calling +64 (0) 800 222 478 and selecting option 3
The wearing of masks in public places will no longer be compulsory
A mandatory 7-day isolation for COVID-19 patients remains
