Pirates, airplane mode will soon be a thing of the past. The European Union has announced that all passengers on board flights within the European Union will be able to keep their electronic devices on as well as mobile data activated, in order to use 5G networks on them.

Passengers will be able to access connectivity "to the maximum of its capacity and characteristics, as with a 5G mobile network on land."

This would take effect on June 30th, 2023 at the latest, according to the institution. Hopefully, the UK will follow suit.

We will, of course, update you as we receive more information.
