Earlier this year, Venice announced its plans to start charging entrance to the city for day-trippers to fight the overwhelming waves of crowds of people visiting the city, especially during Summer dates.
This 'tourist tax' has now been pushed to January 2023, when the booking and payment system will be introduced.
Everyone visiting the city for the day will be expected to pay this fee, which will fluctuate from around £3 to £8, depending on the season.
Anyone staying the night in the city won't need to pay this fee, as hotels usually already charge a £6 city tax with your stay.
Residents, students, and commuters are not expected to pay this fee either.
Along with this fee, the city will be introducing 500 closed-circuit cameras to monitor the flow of tourists during the day. This initiative has been compared to 'Big Brother,' as many people do not like the idea of being monitored.
