✨ The Belle Époque experience

This elegant train runs the route from Montreux to Zweisimmen, passing picturesque towns like Gstaad — one of Switzerland’s chicest alpine resorts. Aboard, you’ll find retro lamps, plush seats and large windows to enjoy jaw‑dropping views.

👉 It only runs twice a day, each way:

  • Montreux → Zweisimmen at 9:50am and 2:50pm

  • Zweisimmen → Montreux at 12:02pm and 5:02pm

🎟 How to book

  • Head to the official site or Mobility Swiss Rail website here: mob.ch and search for the train labelled “Belle Époque”.

  • You’ll need to pay a reservation fee of 9 CHF (about £8.10) to secure a seat in first or second class.

  • Tip: If you already have a Swiss Travel Pass or Half‑Fare Card, the journey fare is often included — you’ll just pay that 9 CHF reserve fee.

💶 Prices

  • Montreux → Zweisimmen: second class from 34 CHF (£30.60); first class about 58 CHF (£52.20).

  • Montreux → Gstaad: (shorter route): second class 28 CHF (£25.20); first class 48 CHF (£43.20).

☠️ Pirate tips for spending less:

  1. Pick a shorter route (eg Gstaad ↔ Zweisimmen) — same vintage charm, lower cost.

  2. Use those Swiss travel passes (Travel Pass or Half‑Fare) — takes a chunk off the cost.

  3. Book ahead. Those pretty seats with the best views get snapped up fast.

So Pirates, there you have it: a classy, memorable Swiss train journey that doesn’t have to cost a fortune.
