Qantas is set to launch the first direct flight between London and Sydney in 2025.
The 10,573-mile flight is expected to take about 20 hours and would be the longest flight in the world, eclipsing the current longest route between New York and Singapore, which takes about 18 hours.
The ultra-long-haul flight -- known as "Project Sunrise" -- was set to launch in 2023, but was delayed due to Covid.
The flight has been done before but with no passengers on board. The additional weight will require a lot more fuel, so any passenger plane making the journey will have to be custom fitted with an extra fuel tank.
You can currently fly direct from London to Perth, on Australia's west coast, in just under 17 hours.
Would you sit on a plane for 20+ hours, Pirates?
