How to get to the real-life Velaris - AKA Zermatt, Switzerland ✨🌌🧚‍♂️

ACOTAR fans, we've found the real-life Velaris (also referred to as the City of Starlight and the Court of Dreams) and here is our mini-guide to get you there.

Zermatt, Switzerland, strikes an uncanny resemblance to the capital city of the Night Court.

Zermatt, Switzerland

The enchanted village of Zermatt, Switzerland is surrounded by snow-peaked mountains (including Matterhorn). Its main street is lined with boutique shops, cafes and restaurants. And its car-free.

So, it's no wonder people have likened this spot to the famous Velaris, from the ACOTAR book series.

How to get there?

You cannot fly to Zermatt, as it doesn't have an airport. The most convenient airports to fly to from the UK to reach Zermatt are Geneva or Zurich.

You'll need to take a train from Geneva or Zurich to Visp, taking around 2–3 hours. From Visp, you'll take a 1-hour train to Zermatt.

I know this sounds like a long journey, however, it'll probably be one of the most scenic trains you'll ever take. Stunning mountain and lake views will keep you occupied along the route.
