Berlin-based camper rental company, PaulCamper, conducted a study comparing the number of pickpocketings in Europe's top tourist cities with the number of visitors, resulting in a ranking of where tourists are most likely to become victims of theft. 😮
Here is the list of European cities where you should pay special attention to your personal belongings:
1. Barcelona – Risk 1 in 70: The Catalan capital is known for the beauty of its attractions, but unfortunately also for its high rate of pickpocketing, especially in the busiest areas such as La Rambla and the Sagrada Familia.
2. Madrid – Risk of 1 in 104: Even in the Spanish capital, especially in tourist areas and on public transport, pickpocketing is a constant threat.
3. Milan – Risk of 1 in 162 : The city of fashion is not immune to this phenomenon, with pickpockets particularly active in tourist areas such as the Duomo and luxury shops.
4. Copenhagen – Risk 1 in 214 : Despite its reputation as a safe city, pickpocketing is on the rise in the Danish capital, especially in central areas.
