You've heard of treehouses but have you ever heard of a tree tent? It might sound even less glamorous than camping - if that's even possible - but we assure you, after seeing the pictures you will want to book it asap! Read on to learn more.

Welcome to The Tree Tent, which is exactly what it sounds like. This top-rated Airbnb is a suspended spherical structure strung between two trees overlooking the gorgeous Mendip Hills in Somerset, England.

It offers the ultimate escape into the outdoors. It’s an absolutely magical retreat which captures the true romance and cosiness of a camping but in a luxurious and unique way.

Inside the tent you will find a comfortable double bed, LED lighting and a wood burning stove, perfect for those chilly evenings out in the country. The bed folds into a sofa for daytime lounging in case you need to stay inside on wet days.

Don't worry if it gets a little windy on your trip, the tent is very secure!

Outside, across from the suspended bedroom, you have a spacious deck area nestled among the trees. Take a seat on the comfy sofa and use the firepit to cook your dinner or roast marshmallows. S'mores anyone?

If you don't feel like cooking your meal over an open flame, you also have a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal with a fridge, gas hob, sink, saucepans, crockery and cutlery. There is also a cute cafe table where you can eat your dinner.

The kitchen has been thoughtfully designed so you will be able to cook and eat your meals in a protected space should the weather be a little wet.

You will also be able to make arrangements for a breakfast hamper with nearby local grocer- who provides amazing local produce (including giant almond croissants, when available!)

There is a separate outdoor shower with hot water and a proper loo.

Nearby, you also have a swimming pool on the grounds that is located in a converted barn.

The tree tent doesn't have WiFi or electricity, so you will be able to completely go off-the-grid and relax. Catch a beautiful sunset and watch the stars (be sure to bring binoculars!) or use the stay the perfect base for exploring nearby areas like Glastonbury and Cheddar.

The Tree Tent has a 2-night minimum stay, and we've found weekend dates in 2024 from £81 per person, per night (£323 total).
