What's the advantage compared to a whole holiday for a similar price?
Most package holidays to Northern Lights areas don't include tours, so you'll have to add those costs on to your trip. The excursion is great for people with little annual leave who don't want to miss out on the chance to see the phenomenon.
Plus weather/clouds might make it impossible for you to see the Aurora Borealis. In a plane, you've got good chances to spot it. The Omega Breaks page states that expert astronomers from the BBC’s The Sky at Night programme will help hunting the lights (it's not guaranteed that you'll find them).
