• We recommend hiring a car: The resort is tucked away on a steep hill. To grab dinner in town or explore the coast, you’ll definitely want your own wheels

• The hotel isn't seaside, but they do run a regular shuttle down to their private beach area. It’s a pebble beach, so pack some swim shoes!

• You are perfectly positioned for a day trip to the Aeolian Islands. Head to the nearby port of Milazzo to catch a ferry to Vulcano or Lipari.

• Visiting in May means avoiding the 40°C summer heat. Expect a perfect 22°C, ideal for hiking the Nebrodi Mountains or exploring the ruins at Tindari.

• While breakfast is included, the hotel is remote. Head into nearby Gioiosa Marea for authentic (and much cheaper) Sicilian pasta and granita.
