Heads up, Pirates! If you’re planning a getaway with Ryanair, you’ll need to set your alarm a little bit earlier. The budget airline is shaking things up with a major change to its bag drop rules that could catch you out if you aren't careful 👇
Starting from 10 November, Ryanair is moving its bag drop and check-in deadline. Instead of the usual 40 minutes, desks will now close 60 minutes before your flight’s scheduled departure.
Ryanair says the extra 20 minutes is to help everyone clear security and passport control without the "Home Alone" sprint to the gate. With new EU entry-exit systems causing potential queues, they want to make sure your holiday starts with a cocktail, not a missed flight! You can read more about the issues caused by these new entry-exit systems HERE
More kiosks: Ryanair is rolling out self-service kiosks at 95% of airports to speed things up.
Early opening: Desks will open earlier to accommodate the new schedule.
Pirate tip: Only one in five travellers actually check-in luggage for Ryanair flights - If you’re travelling light with just a backpack, the rules remain the same, but we always recommend getting to the gate early to snag that overhead locker space! 🏴☠️
