Are the savings genuine? Do the Black Friday labels actually mean lower prices? And is it worth getting excited?
From £55 per night
We checked the Booking.com rates for two handfuls of hotels last night and again this morning, and here's the quick truth:
Not all Black Friday labels mean lower prices
Over half the hotels we checked were the same price as before
A couple marked as Black Friday deals were even slightly higher today (dynamic pricing, we know… but still)
After digging into the dedicated Black Friday page, only about 1 in 10 properties actually offered the best price on the market.
🧭 Our verdict
Take the displayed savings with a pinch of salt. Before booking, compare prices on sites like Trivago, and check Expedia's strong member sale or Agoda's consistently competitive rates.
✨ Top tip: Look on your phone as well – mobile-only rates can be cheaper.
Below are a few examples where Booking.com genuinely had the lowest prices we found, with stays from £55 in cities like Istanbul, Lisbon, Paris and Rome.
Rome, Hub Pantheon, 14-15 December 2025
Paris, Villa Hausmann, 19-20 January 2026
Lisbon Wine Hotel, 12-13 January 2026
Istanbul, Union Hotel Plat Inn, 17-18 January 2026
We might be pirates, but we’re an honest bunch. We check all our deals when we review them to make sure everything is available. However, with deals this hot, things change quickly—flight prices fluctuate, hotel rooms sell out, currencies yo-yo. And just so you know, local taxes might still apply – even treasure has its fine print. But mainly, demand for the best deals means the lowest prices don’t last long. If you’ve missed out this time, don’t worry, we’re working on more great offers.
