Discover where you can go with TUI

With over 100 years of experience, TUI is a holiday provider that offers a diverse range of holiday packages as well as flights, cruises and hotel-only offers.

You can rest easy when booking with them thanks to a dedicated team that is there to support you 24/7 as well as ATOL-protection and easy changes. We’ve also got helpful tips to keep in mind while booking your holidays, so you can get the most for your money.

The only question is, where do you want to go?

Payday

Alright, pirates, two great things happened this week: first, we got the news that testing rules will be relaxed, and second, we just got paid. Naturally, we are looking at all the possible holidays we can book.

We all deserve to treat ourselves this year, but with so many amazing deals on offer, it’s hard to know if you are getting the right deal or even the best deal. We’re here to help with that! Because the ‘right’ or ‘best’ deal looks a little differently for everyone, we try to be as open and honest with our deals, as well as cover a multitude of destinations and holiday types.

Whether you’re looking for long-haul or city breaks, family-friendly or adult-only holidays, we are here to give you some tips on what to look out for when booking your next holiday.

Our tips to getting the best deal this payday

1. Be flexible with your when and where

The best way you can save money is by being flexible on where you want to go and when you go on holiday. If you’re looking for a bargain family holiday, we recommend searching for holidays during the non-peak months of May and September (outside of school holidays).

While early-bird deals used to have some of the best savings year-round, this year we’ve seen a huge trend in last-minute deals, with a lot of travellers booking their holidays only a week or two before they are set to leave. Being open to multiple destinations and durations will also help you save, as you can go where the deals are based on certain restrictions. For example, last summer we saw some amazing deals to Greece because there were fewer restrictions in place

2. Try searching odd durations for your holiday

We love finding extra value where we can, like when a holiday is the same price if you go 8 days or 5! We suggest being open to odd durations, such as 8, 9,13,16 night holidays. These are the least selected holiday durations, which is a struggle to sell, so you can often find great value on these durations throughout the season in some of your favourite places like mainland Spain, Canaries, and the Balearic Islands.

3. Looking for a bargain summer holiday? Book early!

One thing is for sure, July and August are some of the most popular times to travel, so it's worth trying to book an early-bird holiday before prices increase. If you want to get away for summer, we recommend booking a holiday for next summer (2023) where you’ll have your pick of room types and destinations.

If you want to book a summer holiday for this year, we recommend jumping on that booking now. While you are sure to get a cheaper holiday if you book this spring, there are still savings to be had during the summer holidays. If possible, we recommend looking outside the school holidays.

4. Open your deal search to multiple departure airports

Sometimes there are deals to be had from an airport that isn’t your main one, but maybe a bit further away. If you’re able to search different departure points, this will allow you to see which airport has the best price for your holidays dates.

Caribbean Dreams

Are you longing for a dreamy beach holiday spent on an endless, white sand beach, touring pretty little towns or discovering nature in a tropical rainforest? The Bahamas, Curaçao, Jamaica, Cuba, the Dominican Republic—it's destinations like these that make the Caribbean a great holiday destination. We are here to tell you everything you need to know about a Caribbean holiday, including when and where to go for the best deals.

The best & worst time to visit the Caribbean

Wondering when you should book your Caribbean holiday? Peak season is from December to April, when it is cold and grey in the UK. However, if you’re looking for a great deal, we suggest looking outside these peak months. Going in November, May or June will save you some cash and the beaches and resorts should be less crowded. Plus, the temperatures will still be nice, ranging between 23 and 29 degrees.

We recommend avoiding the Caribbean in the hurricane season, which runs from September to October. Since the Caribbean encompasses many islands, it’s best to check your destination individually for the best time to go, as some islands, such as like Barbados, Aruba, Trinidad and Tobago, and Curaçao are southern enough to avoid the hurricane season altogether.

Budget destinations in the Caribbean

There are a lot of great destinations in the Caribbean, but not all of them are considered budget-friendly. In fact, the Caribbean can be a rather expensive holiday destination due to the relatively long flight and the sometimes high cost of living. However, if you’re looking for affordable options in the Caribbean, we recommend searching for holidays in the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Cuba as well as the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico.

The best way to keep costs low when travelling long-haul to the Caribbean is choosing all-inclusive packages or booking last-minute options. Discover more about these destinations:

Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is a fanatic destination for those looking for an affordable holiday. Punta Cana is especially popular with tourists looking for a good deal, as there are a ton of holiday resorts located right on the beach that offer reasonable rates all year round.

Package deals and last-minute trips are often available for well under £1,000 for two weeks, per person. Bayahibe, for example, is an interesting place that is less touristy and has affordable accommodation options.

Pirate tip: Low tide and warm waters make Punta Cana an ideal and popular spot for family Caribbean holidays. The resorts are kid-friendly and will allow you to relax to the sound of ocean waves on the beach.

Jamaica

Jamaica is a popular destination in the Caribbean because of its good flight connections. Top destinations include Negril, located in the extreme west of the island, which is a hotspot for divers and snorkellers; Montego Bay, known for its beautiful beaches and pristine coral reefs; and Runaway Bay, which is a more laid-back spot for those looking for some R&R with their Piña colada.

Pirate tip: If you’re planning a holiday to Jamaica, be sure you don’t miss the Dunn's River Falls near Ocho Rios and the Blue Mountain Peak, which is the highest mountain in Jamaica.

Cuba

A holiday in Cuba has become increasingly popular in recent years. The country not only attracts with rum and cigars, but you’ll also be able to combine a wonderful beach holiday with a mix of culture.

We recommend looking for a beach holidays in Varadero, where you can find some cheap all-inclusive deals. Havana is a popular city destination for travellers looking for a holiday packed with history, amazing food and a lot of culture alongside their beach time.

Other ways to holiday in the Caribbean

Arguably the best way to see as much of the Caribbean as possible is on a cruise. You’ll be able to visit several islands, depending on the route in the west or east, as well as to the Caribbean coasts of Central America. And you always have your hotel with you on a Caribbean cruise.

Here you will find great offers for your Caribbean cruise!

If you want to visit a few islands on your own, flight connections are the best option. There are also some ferry connections in the Caribbean. For example, you can explore the British Virgin Islands by boat.

Pirate tip: One way to score a great deal to the Caribbean is through flight sales. Recently, we’ve been seeing a trend in last-minute flight deals. Making your own DIY trip by booking a cheap flight and finding your accommodation can easily save you some cash. Find a cheap flight here.

Long-haul holidays

You will be spoilt for choice if you are looking to book a long-haul holiday with TUI, from white sands and clear waters to bustling city breaks, there is a place for everyone no matter which holiday type you are looking for.

Pick from popular destinations such as the Caribbean, Mexico or Florida, one of Asia’s gems including Goa, Thailand or Dubai, the USA’s top cities from New York to Las Vegas or enjoy the stunning beaches of the Maldives or Mauritius. Even better, you can sometimes grab a great bargain with one of TUI's many discount codes!

Pirate tip: For those wanting to get away for a 10-night long-haul holiday, we recommend extending your search by one day as 11-night holidays are less popular but can end up being the same price, which means you can get an extra night for free!

Long-haul holidays to Costa Rica

During a holiday in Costa Rica, you will experience a biodiversity in nature that is rarely found anywhere in the world. The country in Central America borders Nicaragua in the north and Panama in the south. The Caribbean lies to the east and the Pacific to the west.

Many areas are well-developed for tourism in Costa Rica and there is a high-level of comfort. In fact, TUI airlines flies directly into Liberia, which means there is a shorter transfer time from the airport to your hotel!

Long-haul holidays to Mexico

TUI flies to two different destinations in Mexico—Cancún and Puerto Vallarta. Cancún is a city in Mexico on the Yucatán peninsula. A holiday in Cancún is very popular with tourists because of one attraction: the 14-mile long sandy beach is a dream destination for lovers of the Caribbean and sun-seekers from all over the world.

Similarly, Puerto Vallarta is also a resort town that is located on Mexico’s Pacific coast. It is known for its beaches, nightlife and water sports.

Pirate tip: If you are on holiday in Mexico in November, you can experience the colourful celebrations for the "Day of the Dead" on All Saints' Day.

Long-haul holidays to New York

New York is one of our personal favourite long-haul destinations. The city that never sleeps just has so much to offer, whatever it is that you’re into. From great sightseeing to a fabulous nightlife, New York has a little of everything.

The real estate prices in New York City are very high, accordingly the overnight prices are also quite high. However, if you choose the right travel time and book in good time, you definitely have the chance of getting a bargain. The cheapest months in terms of overnight prices are January, February, July and August.

Pirate tip: For those who would like to visit multiple faraway destinations, but don't want the hassle of going from hotel to hotel and having to pack your bag every time, we recommend hopping on a cruise. Cruises are a great way to check off multiple destinations in one go. Plus, you can even do it all-inclusive. What's not to love?

Trade the UK's grey skies for a holiday in USA’s Sunshine State

Great weather, white sandy beaches, exciting cities and beautiful nature - you will find all this and more on a Florida holiday. Let yourself be carried away by the sunny disposition of the Americans and explore one of the most beautiful and popular states in the USA.

If you can't decide between a beach holiday, a city break or an adventure holiday, Florida is the place for you! In addition to metropolises such as Miami Beach or Orlando, you will find dream beaches with a Caribbean feeling here. And if you've had enough of relaxing on the beach, you can cruise past crocodiles through the Everglades or get your adrenaline pumping in one of the many amusement parks such as Disney World or Universal Orlando. Harry Potter fans will especially love The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ at Universal Orlando.

We recommend travelling to Florida sometime from mid-November to mid-May if you are looking for an adult-only holiday. During these months, you have pleasant temperatures and fewer crowds, which is a plus if you are hoping to visit any of the big theme parks.

Pirate-tip: Adult-only holidaymakers should search dates before and after the school holidays, to find deals with great value.

Florida with kids

Florida is an absolute dream destination for family vacations! The children will be amazed by the countless amusement parks, the dream beaches (especially on the West Coast, as there are fewer waves there) and the nature in the Everglades and other national parks.

Pirate-recommended activities in Florida with or without kids

  • Rent a brightly coloured convertible and hit the streets for a fun way to tour the cities

  • Go kayaking on the Rainbow River, which is also a manatee sanctuary

  • Learn to surf in Boca Raton

  • Take a bike tour of Miami Beach

  • For fishing enthusiasts, go deep-sea fishing off Miami's coast

  • Play (mini) golf! Florida is a true golf paradise with over 1480 golf courses and even the less experienced will get their money's worth on the mini golf courses full of waterfalls and lavish themed landscapes. We recommend stopping at the award-winning Castle Golf mini golf course in Fort Myers for a game or two

Why should I book a holiday with TUI?

If you’ve been feeling a little insecure about travel due to the new variant, you’re not alone! While we love a great DIY holiday, we realise that booking a package deal during these uncertain times is the way to go! Discover all the reasons why we would choose to book a holiday with TUI.

Easy & affordable testing

One of the biggest concerns about holidays this year has been about testing. We get that it can seem like an expensive and time-consuming thing to factor in, especially if any changes happen during your trip. TUI offers easy and affordable testing packages for all of their holidays, with test prices starting from just £15 for an antigen test and from £35 for a PCR test. Discover more information on testing here.

Curious about how this works in action? A few thousand British holidaymakers actually found themselves stranded in Lapland when the UK decided to change the entry rules to include a PCR test on 7 December. Luckily, TUI saved those customers by flying in 3,500 PCR tests so that everyone could return home from their travels on time. That’s dedication!

Book with confidence

All of TUI’s package holidays (which include both flights and accommodation) are ATOL protected, meaning that both you and your money will be safe if you end up stranded somewhere abroad or the company goes out of business. Plus, you’ll have TUI’s package refund guarantee, which means if you book a package holiday that TUI cancels, you’ll have your money back within 14 days. Flexible changes are also available on bookings departing on or before 30 April 2022 for any reason. However, you’ll also have the chance to change your booking if there are any major destination restrictions that could impact your holiday.

Tailor-made experiences with BIG savings

Design your perfect holiday with the help of TUI! Whether you are searching for a beach holiday or city break, you have a lot of different options to choose from, including tours, multi-destination trips, as well as package deals that range from self-catering to all-inclusive. Plus, enjoy extra savings with TUI’s sale offers that allow you to save even more off already discounted holidays.

Greener holidays

TUI is committed to providing travellers with sustainable options on their holidays, and are listed on the FTSE4 Good Index for meeting strict social, environmental and governance standards. Their philosophy is “every holiday counts,” both individually and environmentally. They therefore continue to promote hotels that operate in a greener and fairer way, with over 60% of the hotels that TUI and their partners have designed and developed having achieved sustainability certifications. They’ve also invested in carbon efficient planes in hopes of cutting everyone’s carbon footprint down.

Types of holidays that TUI offers

Last-minute holidays

While early-bird deals used to have some of the best savings year-round, this year we’ve seen a huge trend in last-minute deals, with a lot of travellers booking their holidays only a week or two before they are set to leave. While booking an all-inclusive offer might seem more expensive at first, you’re more likely to save in the long run as you won’t have to pay for any meals or drinks on your holiday.

Pirate tip: Travelling with kids? Use TUI’s free kids place finder to search for your dream holiday where you can take your little ones away at no extra cost.

TUI BLUE FOR TWO properties are completely child-free! From simple hideaways and luxury adults-only holidays in five-star hotels, there are many adults-only experiences.

Pirate tip: If you’re looking to travel outside of school holidays, try booking a 14-night holiday between 25 August and 1 September for a bargain deal. These dates are difficult to sell and are therefore the best value over this period.

A cruise with TUI offers everything you would come to expect from a cruise but way more, most cruises include meals in the price, but with TUI, your drinks are included, as well as tips and service charges, so there are no hidden costs.
