Ibiza holidays: Plan your dream Balearic island escape

While Ibiza may have a well-established reputation for being a party island, there's so much more going on when it comes to this Balearic Island. And that's why holidaymakers flock to Ibiza every year.

Yes, it is undoubtedly one of the best and most famous party destinations in the whole world, with a vibrant club scene, celebrity DJs and guests and legendary after-hours parties. But the best thing about going on holiday in Ibiza? You can create your own version of a perfect island escape.

If that's partying all night, then Ibiza won't disappoint! But if you're after a quiet family-friendly stay or a relaxing beach holiday based in a spectacularly beautiful bay, Ibiza is equally the place for you. This variety-filled island offers a little bit of everything, which means that every holidaymaker in Ibiza is bound to have the trip of their dreams!

The best holiday destinations in Ibiza

No matter what sort of trip you have in mind, you're all set to find the perfect holiday base in Ibiza. After all, it's this island's ability to offer variety that brings holidaymakers to its shores year after year - this is what's made it one of the most popular spots in Spain. From the quiet and peaceful to the raucous and party-filled, Ibiza is home to a wide range of destinations that'll suit your needs.

Or why not have it all? Given the incredible versatility of the island, why not make an extended holiday out of it and see all the island has to offer? You can spend a few days partying it up at the best clubs and venues, then follow this up with some adventure travel or a relaxing long weekend lying on the beach.

Here are some of our top holiday destinations in Ibiza.

Playa d'en Bossa

If nightlife and music are exactly what you're after, look no further than Playa d'en Bossa. Located in the south of the island, Playa d'en Bossa's long stretch of sandy beach is flanked by beach clubs, restaurants and bars. This is where you'll find a full programme of celebrity and up-and-coming DJs every summer; the top clubs here include Hï Ibiza, Ushuaïa and SWAG. You can also party on the water, as Playa d'en Bossa boat parties are a regular fixture during the summer.

While you divide your time between lazing on the beach and dancing at the clubs, you can take your pick of Playa d'en Bossa's wide range of accommodation - just remember to book in advance for the best summer prices!

Ibiza Town

The island's main city, Ibiza Town offers a whole lot of variety to holidaymakers that choose to base themselves there. This is the place to be if you'd like to find out more about the island's history, do some shopping, eat delicious food, experience Ibiza's nightlife or spend time at some of the island's loveliest beaches - or, even better, do them all!

Just don't miss out on a visit to Dalt Vila, Ibiza Town's fortified upper town and an official UNESCO World Heritage Site; you'll find plenty of historical buildings and structures here. When the sun goes down, head to Pacha, one of the island's most iconic clubs. For some unforgettable beach time, Ibiza Town is located close to some gorgeous options: Playa de Ses Figueretes, Playa d’en Bossa and Playa Talamanca.

Es Caná

For something a little different, and a whole lot quieter, head to Es Caná, located on Ibiza's north eastern coast. Es Caná is a particularly good choice for families, thanks to its beach resorts with child-friendly facilities and the town's sandy beach with shallow water - perfect for swimming with little ones! Es Caná also hosts a famous hippie market every Wednesday, offering a unique opportunity to pick up some authentic and original gifts.

While Es Caná is on the small side, you can still find a good selection of cafes, bars, tour providers and restaurants near the beach.

Santa Eulalia

Not too far from Es Caná but larger in scale, Santa Eulalia is another top spot for family-friendly stays in Ibiza. While you can certainly find options for nightlife here, you can expect a far more laidback holiday in Santa Eulalia. The palm tree-lined promenade is an ideal place for a lengthy stroll, with the sandy beach to one side and bars and restaurants on the other.

For foodies, head to Carrer de Sant Vicent, which is known as Santa Eulalia's restaurant street; it's filled with top eateries showcasing a variety of international cuisines.

San Antonio

San Antonio and its adjoining bay are a magnet for nightlife seekers and groups. While there are plenty of other reasons to visit San Antonio, such as its beautiful nature nearby and activities for families, many first-time visitors to Ibiza choose this town for its clubs and pool parties in summer. For nightlife, check out venues like O Beach Ibiza, Ibiza Rocks Hotel and Es Paradis.

To soak up the town's renowned sunsets, head to the suitably nicknamed Sunset Strip, San Antonio's bar-lined promenade that's filled with choices for a drink and meal.

Cala San Vicente

Situated on Ibiza's northern coastline, Cala San Vicente is located in a bay that feels both secluded and peaceful. While there are certainly plenty of facilities here, from bars and restaurants to shops and watersports equipment hire, the atmosphere is very relaxed. Popular with families and couples, many choose to spend their days reclined on a lounger at Cala San Vicente's glorious beach or exploring the area's surrounding natural scenery.

If you've got the time, head up to Mirador de Sa Punta Grossa for the loveliest views of Cala San Vicente and its surrounds.
