Once a humble fishing village, Benidorm is now a bustling coastal city with distinct areas to enjoy. Whether you're going for the beach or to have a family holiday, check out our recommendations for the best areas to stay in Benidorm.
If it's your very first time in Benidorm, you'll no doubt want to be at the heart of the action. This is why we'd recommend Levante or Benidorm's Old Town as the best areas to stay for first-timers. Both of these neighbourhoods are central and have plenty to offer holidaymakers.
Levante is the neighbourhood close to Playa de Levante, which is Benidorm's ever-popular golden-sand beach. The beachfront itself is lined with accommodation, bars and restaurants, making it a top choice for holidaymakers who want easy access to the beach.
Benidorm's Old Town sits right between Benidorm's two beach areas, so beach access is still really easy, with the additional benefit of being able to get to Old Town attractions on foot. The Old Town is packed with narrow streets, tapas bars and shops, so you really couldn't be more central than this spot!
If you're heading on holiday with your kids, we'd highly recommend staying in Poniente. This neighbourhood is named after its beach, Playa de Poniente, which is just as lovely as Playa de Levante, but is also less busy.
You'll still find restaurants and bars here, but you'll also find outdoor play areas and you'll still have easy access to Benidorm's Old Town, which makes it a crowdpleaser for families.
If your goal is to make the most of the beach during the day and Benidorm's nightlife during the evenings, then Levante is the place to be. This is where you'll find a huge range of bars, including beachside bars, and the most well-known nightlife venues too.
